Nestled by the serene waters of Hamilton's Pond, Stephanie and Dylan's wedding was a breathtaking celebration of love, nature, and timeless moments. As a photographer, capturing the essence of their day felt like preserving a beautiful story told through soft light, gentle breezes, and the pure joy that radiated from this wonderful couple. From the intimate vows to the golden hour portraits on the lawn, every frame seemed to echo their deep connection and the magic of their surroundings. It was an honor to witness and document such a perfect day at a location so full of charm and meaning.
We're so glad we got the chance to celebrate with Stephanie and Dylan!
Number One Tip for Future Phocus Couples to Consider About The Wedding Day:
Stay present in the moment. Don’t stress about the next pieces throughout the day, or even planning. What’s going to happen will happen, just enjoy each part individually and soak in every second.
What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?
I’m most looking forward to seeing my first look with my mom. I didn’t even know I truly wanted one until I was dressed. Watching my mom have the moment she waited my whole life for was truly so special for each of us. -Stephanie
What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?
I’m most looking forward to seeing my first look with my daughter, Paisley. She looked so beautiful and grown up. -Dylan
How did you two meet? (Tell us all those little details!)
It all began on a dating app (I know, cringeworthy, right?). At first, we didn’t spark; months slipped by in silence after our initial match. But then came a fateful day—Dylan posted on Snapchat, offering $5 to the first person who could guess a song. In the midst of a COVID lockdown, boredom was creeping in, and let's be real, $5 could buy me a little coffee treat! So, with a thrill of mischief, I quickly Shazammed the tune and shot off my guess. Just like that, I snagged my $5, Dylan had no awareness of my sneakiness until long afterward. From that moment on, our conversations flowed like a river, and we became utterly inseparable. And so, here’s to Metallica—the unexpected soundtrack to our beautiful beginning!
Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love?
The SLEEVES! I knew I wanted sleeves and that’s all I knew going into dress shopping. The train and lace were such an added bonus!
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
Forever You and Me - The Teskey Brothers Dylan loves playing guitar and finding new songs to play. He came across it and we both loved it!
Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day:
I felt a rush of love. All of our good times played in my head as she walked toward me down the aisle. -Dylan
Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day:
Calmness. I was so sick on the wedding day from the early morning that I was worried about what I would be able to make it through. When I came center to that aisle and saw Dylan, the whole feeling went away and I knew then, I would be able to get through it. -Stephanie
What was the most emotional part of the day for you?
The first dance. As I mentioned, I fell super sick on our wedding day and had doubts that I would make it (I didn’t), being in Dylan’s arm and scanning the room - seeing all of our families and close friends smiling faces made the whole thing feel so complete. -Stephanie
What was the most emotional part of the day for you?
Seeing Steph for the first time. I kept hearing how she was sick and I couldn’t check on her, so seeing her for the first time that day as dolled up as she was just hit me all at once. -Dylan
What is ONE moment of your day that you will always remember?
The love! We felt so much love throughout the whole week and day. Everyone’s smiling faces kept us going. We had so many out of town guests that we don’t get to see too often, so spending this day with them was extra special.
Favorite part of the Phocus Experience?
Their kindness! The whole staff “read the room” and came up with quick solutions when finding out I was under the weather. They came to me with ideas of moving the timeline to allow myself more time to get ready when needed and were totally flexible with me! They were courtesy and kind throughout the whole day.
